It's all about me
My name is Heather and I live on the banks of the great Mississippi River, a bit too far north for my taste though. I would enjoy warm weather all year round, but we divas know how to make lemon martinis from lemons! During the colder months I do most of my brainstorming and design work.
Spoiled Diva came about when my friends and family began telling me how spoiled I am due to having a wonderful life and family. My husband and a couple of friends in particular, are always there for me, helping me and supporting me when I need it. I, like everyone else in this crazy world, have hard times along with the good ones, and I strive to see the bright side of things (as divas do) even though it can be really tough to do. My friends and Family remind me of what is really important and look out for me during those times.
I am also spoiled in that I have a wonderful husband of 18 years in January 2010, and a beautiful, funny, and smart little girl. We are a family of strong faith and conviction, and try to live a modest, simple life.
I started out with a strong interest in interior design. While I do still love it, my love for beads has been with me since I was a kid, making friendship pins for my friends at school. I began making my own jewelry about 10 years ago...a little here and there, and then began making it for friends, and now, here I am, making them to sell.
I love each and every piece I make. It is hard for me to part with them, but if I kept each design that I made I would never wear them all...so I share them with others which allows me to explore more designs. To me they are more than just jewelry, they are works of art.
I strive to use good Quality materials while also trying to keep costs down. Genuine precious and semi-precious stones, beautiful handmade glass, Swarovski crystals, Czechoslovakian Crystal, Vintage Brass and beads, and sterling Silver are among my favorites. Sterling Silver is my most favorite material, and all quality materials cost more, so, while my pieces are not cheap, I do try to keep cost down by mixing materials and being smart about my own purchases of the materials.
